Hi, I’m Carmo :)

I started my journey in Lisbon, with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from IADE.

I never felt fulfilled, and it was only when I moved to Barcelona to study Fashion that I truly found my passion - Fashion Styling - and telling stories through clothes and photography.

After this realization, I was torn between following my dreams in New York or Milan.

In the end, Italy won my heart. I enrolled in a Master's for Fashion Styling at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni in Milan, and after my studies there, I had the incredible opportunity to work at Valentino, where I spent a year immersed in the world of an Iconic fashion house — learning everything about how to work in a luxury global brand.

Eager to keep expanding my horizons with new experiences, I later joined ELLE Italia as a Fashion Stylist assistant, where I spent three amazing years.

I had the chance to work with some of the most carismatic models, photographers and professionals in the industry, helping to shape Fashion Editorials while traveling around the world.

But after all those years abroad, I felt it was time to come home.

Back in Lisbon, I collaborated with brands, magazines, photographers, and creatives across the Portuguese fashion scene—bringing everything I’ve learned along the way into every project I took on.

And then came a turning point: I realized it was time to create something that was truly mine.

And that is how ZAWI was born.
